CUPA, or Compassion Unlimited Plus Action, was established in October 1991 in Bangalore by animal activist Ms. Crystal Rogers, along with founding trustees Ms. Suparna Ganguly and Dr. Shiela Rao. Today, CUPA is one of India’s oldest animal welfare organisations and runs seven centres across Bangalore, working for the rescue, treatment, rehabilitation and welfare of animals.

CUPA’s work includes free medical care for community animals through its Trauma & Rescue Centre, a Geriatric Centre for blind and senior dogs, a Large Animal Rescue & Rehabilitation Centre for abandoned and injured working animals, a Sarjapur Spay & Neuter Centre, a Second Chance Adoption Centre for abandoned pets, a Community Cat Sterilisation Facility, and a Small Animal Speciality Hospital that supports rescue and rehabilitation efforts.
